Yoga Session 9: Hero Poses

The hero poses are a great way to stretch the ankles and heels, correcting flat feet. Hero Pose 1 can also serve as a meditative pose instead of the Lotus.


Hero Pose 1 + 2

  1. Sit on the floor both both legs bent back. Hips must rest on the floor between the feet. Join your knees. This is Hero Pose 1

  2. Spread the knees apart and join the big toes.

  3. Bend forward and rest your forehead on the floor

  4. Stretch out your arms. This is Hero Pose 2

DO: Draw the shoulders back for Hero Pose 1

DON'T: turn the feet sideways





Sleeping Hero Pose

  1. Sit in Hero Pose 1

  2. Using elbows for support, lie back. Extend the arms over the head or place them down


DO: lengthen your torso

DON'T: lie back on your heels
